BUSH ECONOMIC PLAN TO EMPHASIZE BUILDING SCHOOLS, ROADS, BRIDGES "Wealthy Can Wait, We've Got A Job To Do" Homeland HQ (formerly Washington, D.C.) - (GNS) - In a stunning about-face that was described by many as "a stunning about-face," President Bush announced today "a new economic stimalus package that will put America back to work and build stuff we need." The core of the plan, as described by aides, is to create massive public works projects to rebuild America's infrastructure. "We need schools, hospitals, drive-in movie theatres, train stations, bus stations, roads and bridges. We need to rebuild what can be rebuilt, and build new what needs to be built new," Bush said. "I pledge that by 2005, or maybe 2007, like Kennedy and the Moon thing, we will have thousands of new schools and all the other stuff. It'll stimalize the econamy," Bush declared. "My advisors tell me if we build all this stuff, the ripple effects throughout the econamy will be enormous. And if we can pay for two wars, we can certainly find the money to do this," Bush said. When asked about his change of plans and its effect on the Rich People, Bush said, "Sometimes you've got to say to the Rich People, enough is enough." In related news, Bush canceled his plans for a motorcade visit to Dallas. |
