De GAULLE TO LEAD VICTORIOUS ALLIES INTO BAGHDAD
 Good Faith Gesture Will Heal US-French Divide
 Paris, France - (GIN)
- French war hero, president and icon Charles De Gaulle will lead the Coalition of the Willing Troops into Baghdad to demonstrate a new spirit of unity among former Allies, Sec. of State Colin Prowl announced today.
     "It's a magnificent gesture on our part, because we're a magnificent people," Prowl said.
     "This fits perfectly in our plans to cast this war in the World War II mode," Sec. of War Donald Rumself declared. "The Vietnam Syndrome is still over."
     De Gaulle apologized for his country's chickenshit attitude during the buildup toward war.
     "C'est la vie," he said, before he was cut off by reporters who don't have time for soundbites that exceed three words.
     Critics of the decison denounced it as a cheap ploy and vowed to continue boycotting French fries and French kisses.
     Savvy retired military analysts pointed out the wisdom of De Gaulle marching into Baghdad at the head of the column.
     "He's tall," they said.
