UN INSPECTORS INSPECT IRAQI PALACE;
NO LINCOLN BEDROOM FOUND Seven Veils, Iraq - (GIN) - UN Inspectors searched an Iraqi palace today for evidence of weapons production or storage. None was found. Also not found, according to inspectors, was a Lincoln Bedroom. "The absence of a Lincoln Bedroom is suspicious," Inspector Sherlock Clouseau Chan told reporters. "Hussein has to raise money just like any other world leader. Without a Lincoln Bedroom, he must be using other conventional means," Chan said Chan did not elaborate, but sources close to the investigation indicated Chan was referring to strongarm fundraising, secret dealmaking with nefarious industrialists from all around the world, including America, and seizure of wealth through onerous taxes, "like they do around the world," said one source. A small group of inspectors, speaking off the record, dissented. "It's obvious. If there's no Lincoln Bedroom, this is not a real palace. This is a decoy," one said. |
