ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON KARZAI REASSURES WORLD COMMUNITY “Assassins Don’t Strike Unless A Nation Is Well Developed And Progressing” Is Consensus Tallulah Bunker, Afghanistan - (GIN) - Telegrams congratulating Afghani President Heyiambad Karzai poured into Kabul following the recent assassination attempt on his life. "Welcome to the family of nations," read one. "Congrats on being shot at," read another. "I am so happy," Karzai said in a spontaneous speech to followers and well-wishers gathered around his headquarters. "A nation that has struggled as we have, this is a glorious moment," he said.
