SEN. KERRY LAUNCHES BID FOR PRESIDENCY DURING WAR ON TERRORISM; FEC Launches Investigation For Violation of Patriot Act; Kerry's Plane Does Not Go Down In Woods Yet Bahstun, MA - (GNS) - Senator John Kerry launched a bid for the presidency which immediately triggered a Federal Elections Commission (FEC) investigation, under the recently passed Patriot Act. "Any person running against the president in time of war is immediately suspect," said FEC Undersectary of Suspicion Matt Drudge. Drudge said Kerry's past, his reasons for running, his behavior in the Senate and in the bedroom, his participation in Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and the fact that his name is so similar to former senator Bob Kerry will all be investigated. Kerry, who voted to support the president's war resolution, said he was not worried. "What're they gonna do that's worse than being in Vietnam?" Kerry said philosophically. Drudge said Kerry's support for Bush may be "a cover. It's an old communist tactic to support the people you're against, just to be able to claim you're not one of Them," he said. According to National Transportation & Safety Board spokesman Chevy Chase, Kerry's plane has not gone down in the woods yet. "At least, no one heard it," he said. |
