"Bill, You Ignorant Slut"

CLINTON, DOLE TEAM UP FOR REVIVAL OF POINT/COUNTERPOINT
 Clinton Will Be Democrat, Dole Will Be Republican
 New York, NY - (GNS)
- Former President Bill Clinton and Former Senator Bob Dole will debate each other in a revival of the point/counterpoint segment on CBS's 60 Minutes.
     "This will give young Americans an opportunity to learn what politics used to be like in America, before these days when there's only one party," said 60 Minutes producer Roger Ailes.
     Clinton will pretend to be a Democrat, a role former friends said will be tough for the champion of middle-of-the-road, compromise politics.
     Dole will be the gruff Republican, a role aides say is very in keeping with the Bob Dole of real life, despite the appearance that he has mellowed and found a sense of humor.
     Excerpts of the first already-taped exchange include this dialogue:
     Clinton: "I ended welfare as we know it and double-crossed the unions and environmentalists by passing NAFTA and GATT."
     Dole: "Oh yeah? Well I would've done that too."
     Clinton: "I feel your pain."
     Dole: "The hell you do. Both your arms work."
     CBS executives are hoping these debates will be what passes for riveting in this "mucked up, malaise-ridden, sleezeball culture of ours."
